This release contains general and security-only bulletins. Security-only bulletins are applicable to new security fixes only. No new bug fixes are included, but bug fixes from earlier patch and update releases are included. If the installation of all new security and bug fixes is required, you must apply all bulletins in this release. In some cases, the general release bulletin will supersede the security-only bulletin. This is not an issue as the general release bulletin contains both the new security and bug fixes. The security-only bulletins are identified by bulletin IDs that end in \"SG\". For information on patch and update classification, see KB 2014447. For more information about the individual bulletins, see the My VMware page and the Resolved Issues section.
ESXi hosts can be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the VMware download page and installing the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command. Additionally, the system can be updated using the image profile and the esxcli software profile command.
ESXi hosts might lose connectivity to the vCenter Sever system due to failure of the vpxa agent service in result of an invalid property update generated by the PropertyCollector object. A race condition in hostd leads to a malformed sequence of property update notification events that cause the invalid property update.
If you have modified the type of a virtual CD-ROM device of a virtual machine in a previous version of ESXi, after you update to a later version, when you try to install or update VMware Tools, the virtual machine might be terminated and marked as invalid.
If a vSphere API for Storage Awareness provider modifies the vSphere Virtual Volumes policy unattended, a null VvolID parameter might update the vSphere Virtual Volumes metadata. This results in a VASA call with a null VvoId parameter and a failure when creating a virtual machine snapshot.
The commands esxcli software profile update or esxcli software profile install might fail on hosts running ESXi 6.7 Update 1 with enabled SecureBoot. You might see error messages such as Failed to setup upgrade using esx-update VIB and Failed to mount tardisk in ramdisk: [Errno 1] Operation not permitted.
This issue is resolved in this release. If you already face the issue, run the esxcli software vib update command to update your system to ESXi 6.7 Update 2. You can also disable SecureBoot, run the ESXCLI commands, and then re-enable SecureBoot.
This issue happens if you create a VMK or vNIC port by using the Route Based on Physical NIC Load option when the physical NIC assigned to that port group is temporarily down. In such cases, the port team uplink is not set because there are no active uplinks in the portgroup. When the physical NIC becomes active again, teaming code fails to update the port data, resulting in a packet loss.
ESXi updates address an out-of-bounds vulnerability with the vertex shader functionality. Exploitation of this issue requires an attacker to have access to a virtual machine with 3D graphics enabled. Successful exploitation may lead to information disclosure or may allow attackers with normal user privileges to create a denial-of-service condition on their own VM. The workaround for this issue involves disabling the 3D-acceleration feature. This feature is not enabled by default on ESXi. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the identifier CVE-2019-5516 to this issue. See VMSA-2019-0006 for further information.

When you upgrade to VMware ESXi 6.7 Update 2 and boot an ESXi host, the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file might contain Unicode characters. As a result, the SSH configuration might not be updated and the SSH service might stop responding, refusing the incoming connections.
Workaround: You must disable and then enable the SSH service manually, following the steps in VMware knowledge base article 2004746. When you upgrade to VMware ESXi 6.7 Update 2, the SSH update is successful if the first line in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file displays: # Version 6.7.2.0. 1e1e36bf2d
